Informal meeting of Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Nursultan Nazarbayev took place in Viskuli residence in Belavezhskaja Forest on May 12—13.
Mr. Lukashenka was the one to initiate the meeting. "We managed to discuss many issues and I am happy you came to Belavezhskaja Forest. It is a unique place", said Lukashenka.
Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out thet he was fascinated by the week-end he spent in Belavezhskaja Forest. "I visited this wonderful place for the first time. Belarus is our strategic partner, close friend and ally. We expect much from the Custom Union, Common Economic Space. It makes our countries closer. There are no allies closer than Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan throughout the whole post-USSR region".
It is considered that Lukashenka and Nazarbaev go so deep into forest in order not to be tapped. What the talks are concerned, presidents might have discussed the prospects of the countries within the Custom Union and the possibility of Kazakhstan’s energy resources supply to Belarus as they were previously blocked by Moscow.
