An opposition youth group called Maladaya (Young) Belarus on Monday applied for membership in the United Democratic Forces (UDF).
"The coalition's Political Council is expected to consider the application on January 24,"Zmitser Kaspyarovich, the recently elected chairman of Maladaya Belarus, told BelaPAN. "Even so, we have already been invited to take part in the UDF's activities."
At the January meeting, the Political Council will also consider a membership application filed by the Ukrainian-registered Union Chernobyl-Belarus on November 30, Anatol Lyabedzka, co-chairman of the UDF, told BelaPAN.
