During the elections to the House of Representatives web cameras won't be installed. Lukashenko will decide whether to invite observers from the OSCE ODIHR.
The decree on the appointment of elections to the House of Representatives may appear in June, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina told reporters in the House of Representatives. She added the date September 23 is the most probable.
Radio Liberty inquired whether the observers from the OSCE ODIHR will be invited?
Yermoshina replied: "This is a very complex issue, given their previous behavior. Therefore, the head of state will take the solution".
Responding to a question what they can learn from the experience of Russian elections, CEC Chairman Lydia Yermoshina said: "There may be some small changes. But as for the fundamental ones - such as the use of web cameras - this will not happen".
"The CEC asked the experts of Beltelekom to calculate how much the purchase and installation of web cameras will cost. They said that only the purchase of equipment without connection will cost $4.5 million - and it is the half of total campaign budget. Therefore, we can not do such a step", Yermoshina said.
