Belarus hopes the EU will take into account the interests of the business when considering the situation in Belarus and the use of economic sanctions, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov said at a press conference in Minsk on Tuesday.
"We hope, the business interests will play a key role", the Belarusian diplomat stressed. The Belarusian side, he said, perceives any economic restrictions with regret. "Specific business interests will be harmed, not only in Belarus but also in the EU. We stand for no economic instruments to overlap with the measures that are used on the political level", he said.
Guryanov reminded, the last year's trade turnover between Belarus and the EU reached $25 billion with a dominant share of exports of Belarusian goods. The surplus has developed in total of about $7 billion and the share of EU in Belarusian exports compared to 2010 increased from 30 to 39%, the portal interfax.by informs.
