Oleg Korban to be a candidate for the UCP chairman

The head of the United Civil Party's youth organization "Young Democrats" Oleg Korban announced his intention to be a candidate for the post of party's chairman.

According to the politician, he made ​​this decision, "considering the situation in the UCP with undisputed leadership of the old team, their ignoring of ideological suggestions and comments from other members of the party, the lack of valuable work in order to achieve goals" of the party.

During the party's election campaign, Korban plans to inform party members of his vision of successful development of the UCP in the next 2 years. He also aims to strengthen positions of the "Young Democrats" in the party and possibly to elect leaders of youth organizations to positions in Political Council and National Committee of the UCP.

As the spokeswoman of the UCP Anna Krasulina informed UDF.BY, the congress, where the party leadership will be elected, is scheduled for late March 2012. Acting party chairman Anatoly Lebedko will also be a candidate for the chairman. As Krasulina explained, this decision is caused that now in the UCP, "unfortunately, there is no alternative person who is strong enough".
