Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu and Anastasia Palazhanka, given two and one year of suspended sentence respectively, have been issued the last warning.
The bodies responsible for monitoring offenders serving sentence can apply to court asking to change the suspended sentence to a real prison sentence because the convicted persons do not want to "mend their way", Radio Liberty reports.
Harry Pahanyaila, a lawyer of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, explains:
"The court can deliver a decision to send them to prison. This is provided by the law. This variant is possible".
If the court chooses this variant, the convicted will have to serve the whole period of sentence, Harry Pahanyaila says.
