Belarussian political scientist, head of the Parliament of the international consortium "EuroBelarus" Uladzimir Matskevich said that "the current power, the current government and the current president are absolutely incompetent in the economic crisis".
"In fact, every new solution exacerbates the problem. Each new decision is more and more stupid," he said in an interview with Telegraf.
"They are absolutely unable to offer any articulate actions to overcome this crisis and reach the country's normal development. Those sound ideas, suggested both within the country and from abroad, are rejected by this incompetent regime," said the expert.
According to him, "the actual state of emergency was introduced" in Belarus after December 19, 2010. Thus, "the remains of all freedoms were eliminated" and "a wave of repression was launched" then. "By the end of this year, Lukashenko's regime has attached some legal status to this emergency situation. Therefore, this puppet parliament adopted laws on the KGB, on public organizations and a number of other laws in conflict with any sign of democracy in the country," said Uladzimir Matskevich.
"Now we live in a country where the personified dictatorship has imposed martial law, thus, promising to fight for the power until the last soldier. In these circumstances, we must consolidate the society, without distinction of politicians, political parties, civic organizations," the political scientist noted.
He said that "it's absolutely groundless and naive to hope for campaigning, advocacy, even a little free elections under martial law."
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a law № 308-W on November 8 "On Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On mass events in Belarus." This act was included in the National Register on November 11. Now flash mobs are banned without the consent of the authorities in the country.
Meanwhile, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes it appropriate to create territorial troops and carry out regular exercise on territorial defense to prevent potentially possible military actions. "The main idea here is to learn from the last war, the resistance movement in Belarus and hit-and-run tactics and be ready for all this. We should prevent the developments of 1941: there were people to fight, they were surrounded, but there was no weapon," said the president.
