On Tuesday the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed Alexander Konyukov the Prosecutor General, relieving him from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, reported the presidential press service to Intefax-Zapad news agency.
Appointing A.Konyukov the President said that "the prosecutor's office must fundamentally deal with the situation, first of all - with the personnel one".
"As a military person you know in the service many people who could be invited to work in the Prosecutor General's Office and prosecutorial agencies, to primarily introduce an order in there and turn the face of the prosecutor's office towards the solution of those problems that must be solved today", said A. Lukashenko.
The President noted that Grigory Vasilevich, relieved from the post of the Prosecutor General, "transferred to another job, he has so many possibilities in this regard".
