Before negotiating with Russia and Europe, the Belarusian authorities should conduct negotiations with its population. This was told by the co-chairman of the organizing committee of the People's Assembly Victor Ivashkevich at the press-conference in Minsk on September 8.
According to the politician, the loans from the IMF and Russia to Belarus won't help to overcome a crisis.
-Only the loan of trust, which can be provided by the Belarus population, can solve the economic problem. But in order the loan of trust to be given, the authorities should conduct negotiations with people, listen to and fulfill the people's requirements, said Victor Ivashekevich.
The co-chairman of the organizing committee thinks that People's Assembly takes place already in kitchens and smoking rooms. And the organizers of the assembly provide the platform for people to express openly what do they think.
-And the government must listen the demands of people. If the government does not listen, then people in accordance with the law and the Constitution will have the right to declare that the authorities must leave, stated V. Ivashkevich.
The politician notes, today there are "no attempts by the authorities to impede the People's Assembly", but there are some cases when people were detained with the leaflets.
We remind, the People's Assembles will be held at 13.00 on October 8 in Minsk and in regions. Organizers called on Belarusians to come to the assembly in order to discuss the situation in the country and to present their proposals and requirements to the authorities. The People's Assembles will be held in accordance with the Constitution and the Law "On national and local assemblies", emphasizes the organizing committee.
