President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko won’t take part in a regular meeting of the Council of CIS Heads in Dushanbe (Tajikistan), which is going to be held on September 3. Instead, the Belarusian delegation will be headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Head of State, Pavel Legki.

"The Prime Minister of Belarus is authorized by President to ensure that the Belarusian delegation would fully and effectively work at a summit in Tajikistan," he said, BelTA informs.

According to Pavel Legki, the president of Belarus personally supervises the implementation of decisions, which he announced on August 30 at meeting on socio-economic development of the country. The spokesperson stressed that a clear, smooth implementation of these solutions is of an exclusive priority for Alexander Lukashenko.

It’s noteworthy that another CIS summit is expected to take place at the end of the year to formalize the results of the current forum. Pavel Legki noted that the personal position of President of Belarus is to be actively involved in the CIS integration processes.

As Telegraf previously reported, at the informal summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held on August 12 in Astana, Alexander Lukashenko most fiercely insisted on the speedy formation of the collective rapid reaction forces by the end of 2011. President of Belarus also offered to host the part of the units formed by that time.

According to the informed sources, the Belarusian president’s offer has not caused enthusiasm among his CSTO colleagues. Moreover, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan blamed Alexander Lukashenko for the support of Azerbaijan. In particular, he resented the fact that Belarus had not acted against the initiative of Azerbaijan to decide on the Karabakh conflict within the UN Security Council instead of the OSCE.
