Lukashenka expects the collective rapid response forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to help him to prevent coups.

The Belarusian dictator underlined Belarus and Russia have common positions on CSTO development, including deploying foreign military bases in CSTO member states and using the collective rapid response forces to prevent coups, Interfax-Zapad news agency reports.

"The matter is not only in using the collective rapid response forces in case of external interference of foreign states, but also in interference of other CSTO states. It will be a significant support to the countries in the CSTO composition. No one will launch a war against us, but many people are itching to organize a coup d'etat," Lukashenka said Tuesday at a meeting with CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordzyuzha in Minsk.
