Former independent candidate for deputy in the House of Representatives, businessman Andrei Bondarenko was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, despite the fact that there was no proof of his guilty.
According to Alexander Dobrovolsky, head of Political Affairs Committee of the United Civil Party, it is a political verdict:
- Bondarenko received punishment as he was independent candidate for deputy. Obviously it is a political case.
Andrei Bondarenko’s lawyers will appeal a decision.
