40 OSCE representatives will start a long-term monitoring of the presidential elections in Belarus in mid-November, reports BelTA. The OSCE is planning to send about 400 international observers here on the election day – December 19.

The long-term monitoring will mean studying the social and political situation in the country, the Election Code and the practice of its usage, monitoring the campaign coverage in mass media and controlling the agitation campaign.

According to the Belarusian legislation, international observers will have the right to attend meetings of election committees of all levels and to meet presidential contenders and people empowered to act for them as well as representatives of parties and civil associations.

One more mission of intentional observers, - the CIS mission – has been accredited by the Central Election Commission and will start a long-term monitoring tomorrow, on October 20.
