Sinikka Hurskainen, rapporteur on Belarus in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) and chairperson of the PACE Sub-Committee on Belarus, is expected to stay in Minsk between August 23 and August 25.
As Ms. Hurskainen told BelaPAN, the objective of her visit is to familiarize herself with new developments in the country, especially those concerning democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
ccording to her, she plans to meet with government officials, opposition politicians and representatives of civil society organizations and the media.
