On August, 26 a group devising a procedure to nominate a common presidential candidate for the United Democratic Forces (UDF) adopted a final variant of the document.

"Now each organization, whose representatives participated in the developing of this document, must decide if this procedure satisfies them and ratify the document" - the coordinator of the working group Lev Margolin said. It is planned that this process will be finished before September, 20.

The document contains the criteria for the registration of the candidates, the procedure of primary elections, and nomination of a candidate at the Congress of Democratic Forces, dates of these events.

The forum, that will adopt a procedure of nomination of common candidate and give start to information campaign, will take place before October, 1. The primaries will be held in April 2010. The results of preliminary election must be approved by the Congress of Democratic Forces, which will take place in May. "If in the first round none of the contenders gain more than 50 percent of the vote, a second round will be held. The number of delegates that each candidate will be able to invite will be proportional to the results of the primaries." - Lev Margolin noted.
