Independent observer: Poles, Belarusians should be friends
Belarus has managed to maintain order and security, an independent observer from Poland, journalist and political commentator Ronald Lasecki told BelTA.

“I have come to Minsk as an independent observer. I have already visited three polling stations in Minsk, studied the work of election commissions and the course of elections, and I plan to visit more polling stations. Of course, I had familiarized myself with the Constitution of Belarus and other documents in advance. Therefore, what I have seen here suggests that everything is in order. There was an opportunity to ask questions and receive clarifications,” said the observer from Poland.

He added: “I visited Belarus 15 years ago. Back then I toured some of the largest cities of your country - Minsk, Mogilev, Bobruisk, Brest and Grodno. I have seen now that a lot has changed, at least in Minsk; the city has become more beautiful. Many new buildings have appeared.”

“Based on what I have seen in Minsk these days, I have made several observations. You have order and security,” said Ronald Lasecki. “I have not seen anything that would scare me or give a reason for concern. Nothing like that. The atmosphere was calm,” he said.

The journalist remarked: “Another observation is a great number of nice people in Belarus. If I have any problem, I can turn to passers-by on the street, and they kindly help me and explain.”

“This visit to Minsk will definitely not be my last one; I want to come again and again. I want to visit a number of places, including the cities that I have been to before, and see how Belarusians live,” the Polish journalist said. “The Polish and Belarusian peoples should be friends,” he is convinced.
