Andreichenko: Friendship between Belarus, Cuba relies on historical ties
Strong friendship between Belarus and Cuba relies on the historical ties and rich experience of interstate and inter-parliamentary cooperation, Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez, BelTA reports.

"Our meeting is another evidence of the friendship and mutual trust between both countries and peoples. This friendship is strong and relies on the historical ties and rich experience of interstate and inter-parliamentary cooperation," Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The geopolitical situation, unfortunately, remains unstable, the speaker noted. "The aspiration of most states for a multipolar world is met with resistance from the countries of the collective West, the United States which are used to dictating their terms," he stressed. "It is in such difficult moments of historical instability that we must stand united to defend national sovereignty and the right to determine the path of development of our countries."

"I would like to assure you that you can always count on us. Belarus will not change its position on the inadmissibility of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba. We have made many statements on this matter. On our part, we are grateful to you for the unwavering and unconditional support of Belarus at all international venues," Vladimir Andreichenko added.
