Some state-run mass media outlets need optimization, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the state of things in mass media on 25 March, BelTA has learned.
“I strongly believe that we need to optimize personnel at television channels. You should keep those people whom you absolutely trust,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
The head of state believes that the state-run media outlets should come to grips with personnel issues and optimize their staff ‘as much as it is possible today'. This will help increase salaries, he said.
A reminder, the president held a meeting with the heads of the largest media outlets and officials in charge of the country's information and financial policy. The bill regulating advertising in the media had been submitted for consideration to the head of state. The participants of the meeting touched upon a number of other topical issues related to the operation of mass media.
