There were no victims when police dispersed protesters on Sunday, Interior Ministry's spokesperson Volha Chamadanava has told Euroradio.

Belarusian human rights defenders said earlier that one person died after reportedly suffering lethal injuries when a prisoner transport vehicle ran over him in central Minsk. An ambulance crew was unable to save his life, according to the human rights defenders.

The exact number of those injured and detained is yet to be known. There are reports that dozens of people were taken to hospitals.

Clashes broke out in cities across Belarus on Sunday evening as riot police used rubber bullets, flash grenades, teargas and water cannon to disperse protests against the results of the contested presidential election.
