KGB Major General heads presidential administration in Belarus

Ihar Serheyenka has been appointed new Head of the Presidential Administration, while Volha Chupris was appointed Deputy Head of the Administration, BelTA informs.
According to the decision of the head of state, Natallia Kachanava will no longer be the head of administration. Lukashenka appointed her to the Council of the Republic, as he has the right to appoint 8 members of the Upper House. Deputy Valer Mitskevich has been elected to the House of Representatives of the seventh convocation.
Ihar Serheyenka was born on January 14, 1963 in the village of Stolitsa, of the Sharkaushchyna district, Vitsebsk region. He graduated from the History Department of BSU, as well as the Academy of Management. Major-General of the KGB, in the past, he was the head of the KGB department in Mahiliou regiont. Until recently he worked as the First Deputy Chairman of the KGB.
Until February 2016, Serheyenka was subject to EU sanctions. He appeared on the EU blacklist as number 190.
Volha Chupris was born in 1969. Since 1997, she worked at BSU in various positions. Since 2018, she has been the Vice-rector of the BSU for educational work and educational innovations. In 1998, she defended her doctoral thesis. In 2016, she was awarded the title of professor.
Chupris is a member of scientific advisory councils under the Ministry of Justice, Supreme Court, Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on Legislation, Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of National Assembly on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development. Participated in the development of the Concept of the Draft Code of Public.
Administration and Local Self-Government, the Draft Concept of the Code of Education, draft laws on amendments and additions to the Administrative Code and the legislative act on civil service issues.
