“Dictatorship In Belarus Is Unrealistic,” President Lukashenko Responds To Criticism

“One-man rule in Belarus is impossible,” Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he ordered a thorough cabinet reshuffle on Saturday, 18 August.
However, the order will always be kept in the country.
Just when it seemed that Belarus finally got rid of the image of “the last dictatorship in Europe”, the dententions of the independent journalists caused a new wave of accusations from foreign media.
While replacing top government officials and announcing new personnel decisions, Alexander Lukashenko found some time to respond to critical remarks.
“I have already said that I keep track of the society’s reaction to my decisions.
From the very first days of my presidency I have been looking to the people’s opinion on the course that the country is following.
We live in a democratic state between two democratic blocs from the west and the east. The south actually have democracy more than enough.
To implement some kind of dictatorship in Belarus is simply unrealistic. Those who say such kind of things are just ridiculous.
The order, however, will always be kept in the country,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Last week the Belarusian president appointed new government members. Sergei Rumas who had chaired the Development Bank of Belarus was appointed prime minister.
