Registration of candidates for local councils of the 28th convocation has begun in Belarus.
The registration will be open until January 18.
January 8th was the last day when a candidate or his representative could submit documents to the relevant territorial, district election commission, necessary for registration as deputy candidate.
The CEC said that the exact number of citizens who were nominated for participation in the 2018 political campaign will be announced in a few days. At the same time, according to data at the end of 2017, more than 7,700 people were nominated as candidates for local councils. After registration, pre-election campaigning starts, which will last until February 17. The next day, on February 18, local elections will be held. A total of just over 18,000 mandates will be distributed among the campaign participants.
