Blogger Eduard Palchys is facing a real term in prison - not a suspended sentence. Unofficial reports suggest the prosecutor has asked the judge to sentence Palchys to three and a half years in prison, reports naviny.by.

Opposition politicians expressed hope Palchys would get a suspended sentence. However, Belarusian Christian Democracy co-chairman Pavel Sevyarynets said the prosecutor is asking three and a half years for the defendant.
The verdict is expected on October 28.
Belarusian human rights defenders have recognized Eduard Palchys a political prisoner.
