Mikalai Statkevich and his wife Maryna Adamovich were returning to Belarus from Poland by car on the night of April 12.
The car was stopped at the border check-point Berastavitsy, Maryna Adamovich’s son Yuras Adamovich reported in social networks.
"The car was driven into a box and was thoroughly inspected. They were “looking” for something. The car was delayed for three hours,” he wrote. “Law enforcement officers were summoned to make an inventory of the property.”
Mikalai Statkevich is refusing to pay fines for unauthorized street actions. It may be the reason for the painstaking customs examination.
Statkevich and his wife were allowed to enter Belarus a few hours later, Adamovich wrote. A car vacuum cleaner (Yuras’ present to his mother) and a few Belsat cups were confiscated.
