Lukashenka: No need to 'play some obscure democracy'

Euroradio

On Monday, Aliaksandr Lukashenka spoke about the parliamentary elections in Belarus. It happened during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Uladzimir Andreichanka. Lukashenka expressed the opinion that the current deputies need to actively participate in the preparation of the forthcoming election campaign: to work with people, to help local authorities in solving the regional problems. This would help "active, trained people who can solve the problems of socio-economic development" get into Parliament, BelTA reports.

Lukashenka stressed that for the deputies it is work for government. Therefore, in this case there is no need to "play some obscure democracy." The Head of State was pleased with the current composition of the House of Representatives, but would like to see there "even more professional deputies."
