The Israeli Embassy to Belarus will not be closed down, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said on March 16.
The Israeli Embassy had planned to stop functioning in Belarus in order to save budget money in 2016. Furthermore, a visa-free regime had to be introduced between the two states.
Belarus too was planning to close down its embassy in Tel-Aviv in response.
Jewish communities from all over the world supported the decision to keep the Embassy. The decision to preserve the Embassy was a question of principle, Israeli MFA spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon claimed a week ago. Hovered, the Embassy could change the format of its work, he added.
The decision has been confirmed by the Prime Minister now.
