22 criminal cases started after housing and utilities tariffs increase

The State Control Committee keeps investigating the problem of the recent huge increase in the housing and utilities payments. More and more officials are getting suspected of the ungrounded increase.

As of February 29, 22 criminal cases have been started for power abuse, Intex-press reports. Three of the cases have been started in Brest Province, deputy head of the KGB Financial Investigation Department Yury Kardymon said.

There were 17 such cases a week ago, Euroradio reported.

The State Control Committee will keep the names and positions of the suspected people a secret until the end of the investigation.
