The President’s Administration is refusing to preset the whole list of ex-officials pardoned by Alyaksandr Lukashenka and appointed to administrative positions. This is an official secret, officials say.
BelaPAN requested the list from the President’s Administration. The response signed by Uladzimir Penihin was: “The President made the decision considering every candidate’s personal case and the type of their actions. They were fully pardoned which means that they can be appointed to certain administrative positions. It does not contradict the law.”
The President’s Administration could not say whether the pardon corresponded to the state’s anti-corruption policy.
We know about five ex-officials and directors imprisoned for corruption and released early. All of them work in administrative positions now: ex-deputy Prosecutor General Alyaksandr Arhipau, ex-head of Chashniki City Executive Committee Uladzimir Bulai, ex CEO of Mahilyoudreu Andrei Vusau, ex-deputy head of Baranavichy City Executive Committee Ihar Stasevich and ex-deputy CEO of Belneftekhim Uladzimir Volkau.
