Austria backs 'no sanctions against Belarus officials'

Austria stands for the complete lifting of sanctions against the representatives of Belarus, said General Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Austria Michael Linhart on February 9 at the opening of the Austrian embassy.

In his speech he said that the cooperation within the framework of dialogue between Belarus and the EU is very important for Austria. And for this, the diplomat said, sanctions need to be lifted.

In his reply, the Foreign Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Makei supported the Austrian diplomat. According to him, the sanctions only interfere in the relationship, particularly in the economic sphere.
