On Tuesday, June 30, the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus set the this year's presidential election for October 11, 2015. It was the date earlier proposed by the CEC. It had also been approved by President Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
The election day of October 11 was aproved by 102 deputies out of 104 present. Astrologers say that October 11 is not a very good day for the election.
Belarusian President is elected for 5 years. Since 1994, this position has been occupied with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
Yesterday, opposition activist Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu called on all potential candidates to withdraw from the election, he offered to nominate political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich as a single candidate.
