Alyaksandr Lukashenka commented on the notorious freeloaders tax during his visit to Slauharad District. The main aim of the decree is to make freeloaders and loafers work, he said.
"This is only the first step. We have shown the people that everyone must work. Everything needs to be fair. We will see what is better and will keep monitoring the situation. We need to take drunkards, criminals and freeloaders out of the society. This is a serious problem,” BELTA quotes Lukashenka.
He respects families having many children, the President said. But there are some bad cases when parents lead an antisocial way of life and send their children to orphanages.
Many Slauharad inhabitants are self-employed cheese-makers. They asked Lukashenka whether they would be considered freeloaders. People who really work will have no problems, Lukashenka replied.
