The state itself will determine the level of its representation.
For the May summit of the Eastern Partnership, Latvia will send an invitation to Belarus, not Alyaksandr Lukashenka personally.
"Now this problem is solved so that the invitation will be sent to the states and not to officials. Within two months, I think, we will understand through diplomatic channels who will represent which state," interfax.by reports Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The head of the Latvian MFA noted that Belarus will determine on its own who will go to represent it at the Summit in Riga. A similar scheme will operate in relation to the rest of the Partnership countries.
The Eastern Partnership summit will be held in Riga in late May. Alyaksandr Lukashenka has not yet participated in the summits of the initiative, as he is on the "black list" of the European Union.
