Lukashenka urges to pay more attention to the studies of the mother tongue in Belarusian schools.
The situation in secondary education is being studied now, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said. There are a lot of issues in it. More time is dedicated to Russian and English than to studying Belarusian, he noted.
"Almost all of us can speak Russian. We speak Belarusian at home much less. Don’t you think that we should add more time to Belarusian instead of English at school?” BELTA quotes Lukashenka.
The state leader also criticized the school literature programme – this or that work of literature could be included in it ‘for unknown reasons’.
