The president accused Western countries of attempting to hamper him from coming to Belgrade.

“Prior to my visit here I wondered, what the reaction was of the European community, the USA to my visit ti Serbia. They were ready to do everything possible for this visit not to take place or go absolutely unnoticed, - Lukashenka claimed. – We came here not against someone. We came in order to make maximum of the bilateral Belarus-Serbia relations, but not to hurt your and our neighbors”.

In the course of the official visit to Serbia Lukashenka had negotiations with the country’s president Tomislav Nikolić. Meetings took place in narrow and broader circles. Before the broad talks of the two delegations, the president claimed: “We have always been together with Serbia in difficult times. This has been, and this always will be”.

“To our country Serbia was and remains a most important partner in the Balkan region”, - he stated, having urged to intensify the work on implementing the measures of the road map on the cooperation development between Belarus and Serbia, signed earlier.

After the negotiations, a number of international documents were signed in the presence of the heads of the two states. Lukashenka and Tomislav Nikolić signed a joint statement, which, in particular, declared the intention to ensure effective implementation of the reached agreements.
