57% of voters took part in the local elections on March 23, 2014.
It is 20.4% less that the turnout announced by the Central Election Committee. This is the result of the survey conducted by the Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies.
According to the IISEPS, 18.9% of voters (CEC information – 32%) voted early (on March 18-22) and 37.9% voted on the Election Day.
About 9% voted for opposition candidates (according to the CEC, only 1.6% of deputies representing parties were elected), BelaPAN reports.
