A British journalist calls not to surrender fishing to propagandists and despots.
"I may be just a humble London metrosexual, but now I know what it feels like to be an eastern European despot," The Guardian's observer Andrew Mayers writes in the article illustrated with a photograph of his catch – a 148lb wels catfish he caught in the River Ebro in Spain. The observer reminds that Putin landed a 126lb pike and Lukashenka boasted about his 126lb catch.
Andrew Mayers says his victory over the catfish was a "victory for the forces of social democracy" adding that being a Labour loyalist with the odd Green wobble, he released the fish in the water, Inopressa.ru reports.
Mayers calls not to surrender fishing to the "mob of playboy bigots who have turned it into a propaganda tool for the rightwing lifestyle" and advises Labour leader Ed Miliband to catch a big catfish too.
