This opinion was given by Vladimir Konovalchuk, an expert in the agro-industrical sector, in a comment for golos.ua website.
In his view, Belarus may respond to Ukraine's import ban on Belarusian dairy products.
"Restrictions of this kind often make the other party to the conflict introduce responsive sanctions. It's possible that they [sanctions] may be used against Ukraine. It depends on Lukashenka. We saw last year that Belarus responded with a ban of Ukrainian goods after Ukraine imposed bans," he thinks.
Vladimir Kovolchuk notes that Belarusian sanctions may be slapped, in particular, if the ban is active for a long time.
"It may be dairy products, cheeses, grain," the economist added.
According to the State Veterinarian and Phytosanitary Service, the import of products of Belarus' plants Babushkina Krynka and Dairy Products was banned on January 21. The import of products of Orsha Dairy Industrial Complex was stopped on January 23.
