During his two-day visit to Warsaw the deputy chairman of the United Civil Party met with the leadership of Poland.
Yaraslau Ramanchuk has met with Radoslaw Sikorski, Poland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Borusiewicz, Speaker of the Senate of Poland, and Andrzej Halicki, Chairman of the Polish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, ucpb.org reports.
"We have established very good partnership ties with the top leadership of Poland, the heads of the both houses of the Parliament, with top officials of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, with people who work out and accept decisions", Ramanchuk noted. "We have a common understanding of the situation in Belarus and of the fact that the results of the election could be recognized only when this election would meet certain European standards of quality, both in the respect of signatures collection and in the spheres of freedom of access to mass media; representation of opposition in election commissions; real, and not fraudulent vote count".
As for the prospects of the economic cooperation, Yaraslau Ramanchuk underlined interest of business circles of Poland in such cooperation:
"The Polish business is interested in Belarus to a great extent. They heard my analysis of the current situation with investment attractiveness attentively. Besides, I have found very good partners represented by serious analytical structures, investment structures, which are ready to help our government, a new democratic government, in reorganization and modernization of enterprises, carrying out reforms which would bring a positive result within 12-18 months already."
