Lukashenko is banned from Olympics

First Vice-Speaker of State Duma of the VI convocation, the president of Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov said that Alexander Lukashenko was refused to receive accreditation for the Games in London, which are to start in a few days.

"Organizing Committee of London Olympics didn't give accreditation to President of Belarusian National Olympic Committee Alexander Lukashenko. Sport is out of politics?", Zhukov wrote in his Twitter.

We remind, in any way, on 1 July by the invitation of Ukraine President Victor Yanukovych Lukashenko visited the final game of the European Football Championship, which took place in Kiev.

However, it should be noted, in 2004 the EU called "totally unacceptable" the presence of former Minister of Sport and Tourism of Belarus Yuri Sivakov at the Athens Olympics because international entities suspected his involvement in famous disappearances in Belarus in 1999. Sivakov was forced to record audio message to Belarusian Olympic Team and to stay in Minsk managing the collection of medals via intercom.

Lukashenko and other Belarusian officials already for a long time have been banned from entering the EU.
