Lukashenka: Belarus needs a new Constitution
BELTA
Alyaksandr Lukashenka does not exclude that a new Constitution may be adopted in Belarus. Otherwise, it will have to be amended. It will happen soon, he said at the meeting with the heads of Constitutional Courts.

“Our Constitution has started lagging behind a little bit,” Lukashenka stressed. “I have asked specialists of the Constitutional Court to make their suggestions as regards the improvement of our Constitution,” BELTA quotes Alyaksandr Lukashenka as saying. “We will gather and discuss them later.”

The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus had been adopted before Lukashenka came to power in 1994.

The President was speaking about possible changes to the Constitution during the April 2019 State of the Nation Address in the first video.
