The Belarusian nuclear power plant is supposed to be launched in the summer of 2020, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev told Alyaksandr Lukashenka on July 23.
"We worked at the station yesterday and discussed the state of affairs. We are ready to make a detailed report. Rosatom is supposed to launch the station in the summer of 2020,” BELTA quotes the Russian representative.
The Belarusian and Russian leaders discussed the project in 2012, Likhachev reminded. “You said that you wanted to build the safest and most modern nuclear power plant in Europe. Rosatom is acting in correspondence to this goal. This is a new safety generation (3+). There are no analogues anywhere in the world,” the Rosatom CEO added.
