The participants of the pro-Russia picket held in Minsk's Independence Square on February 4 were fined, nn.by reports quoting Minsk City Police spokesperson Alyaksandr Lastouski.[b][/b]
6 men were punished for violating the procedures for organizing a mass event. Each of them was awarded a fine in amount of 30 base amounts (BYN 690 or about $350).
The picket participants recorded a video from their action where they declared that Belarusians and Russians were one and the same people. In fact, it was the video that helped the police to identify and find them. The action was not a picket but an appeal to like-minded people, one of the participants, Syarhei Lanavenka, told Euroradio.
