Photographer and prominent blogger Anton Matolka today lost his court case against the Belarus State TV company - the battle that lasted several months. The lawsuit was over the photograph of polar lights, which Matolka made one and a half years ago and which was used by Belarus State TV in a news broadcast without his permission. In the the view of the photographer, the National State TV Company violated his author's rights. He sought to get moral damages in amount of 0.01 kopeks. However, the Supreme Court's collegium on intellectual property ruled there was no violation.
Anatol Matolka now has to pay 450 BYN in court fees and 89,40 BYN to expert Andrei Chuprynski.
