Lukashenka thanks Putin for support

Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin are holding a bilateral meeting in Minsk. The agenda possibly includes among other issues the negotiations about a fresh loan for Belarus. Belarus seeks to get $2 billion from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development.

BELTA reports Lukashenka thanked Putin for support and assistance. The Russian president also noted about the union state. he reckons it "is developing successfuly' and becoming 'the driver of integration processes in the post-Soviet space."

Minsk today will host the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, where Belarusian and Russian Prime Ministers Andrei Kabyakou and Dmitry Medvedev will take part. The agenda includes over dozen issues, including the approval of the union state's budget for 2016.
