The organizers of the festival decide to ignore the 2014 Eurovision winner but previous laureates will be invited.
Austrian singer Thomas Neuwirth better known as Conchita Wurst won the recent Eurovision contest in Denmark. Information about his possible participation in Slavonic Bazaar in Vitsebsk appeared not long ago (Eurovision winners were invited to Vitsebsk in the past few years). But the rumours have not been confirmed.
Deputy director of Slavonic Bazaar advertising and mass media department Yuliya Valunova told Euroradio:
"It does not mean that the tradition will be changed. It has just been decided this year. Some other decision may be made next year. Why not?.. We will invite Eurovision winners – Alyaksandr Rybak and Emmelie de Forest. We will invite previous Eurovision winners.”
Unfortunately, nobody explained why Conchita Wurst would not be invited to Slavonic Bazaar.
