BPF parliamentary contender loses his job

Yawhen Rybakow, a member of the Soym (Council) of the Belarusian Popular Front (BPF) who was nominated by the party to run for a seat in the House of Representatives, has lost his job, the BPF press office reported on Friday.

According to Mr. Rybakow, a few days ago Tatsyana Salomkina, director of Laser Graphics, asked him why he spoke Belarusian and offered him to quit voluntarily because, as she said, the company did not need an engraver anymore.

As Mr. Rybakow said, it was the first time that the director came to his workplace.

He linked his loss of job to the fact that he filed an application for registration as a parliamentary candidate with the district election commission of Staravilenskaya Electoral District No. 105 in Minsk.

Mr. Rybakow had worked as an engraver at Laser Graphics for almost a year. On July 25, he was awarded the title of best performing employee.
