The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR)’s election observation mission for these parliamentary elections in Belarus will be headed by Antonio Milososki of Macedonia, Lidziya Yarmoshyna, head of the central election commission, told reporters in Minsk on Thursday.

According to her, Donald Bisson of the United States will be deputy head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission.

Ms. Yarmoshyna noted that the central election commission had not yet received information about the mission’s members. "But we know that the first members of the mission are to arrive in Belarus on August 21," she said. "In late August, we’ll issue them observer’s certificates."

Antonio Milososki was Macedonia’s foreign minister between 2006 and 2011. He was spokesman for the government in 2000 and 2001 after serving as head of the secretariat of a deputy prime minister in the previous two years.

Donald Bisson was a legal analyst on the ODIHR observation mission for a presidential election in Ukraine in 2010 and a presidential election in Russia in 2012.
