Volfovich comments on threats from Ukraine, West to Belarus
State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich spoke about external threats to Belarus in an interview to ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“A couple of years ago we considered potential threats and challenges, primarily in the western operational direction, in the West, seeing the aggressive attitude of the United States, the collective West, which make primary focus on the military component, military presence on the territory of our neighboring states, increasing the number of exercises, creating force groups. We do not remove these challenges and threats from the western operational direction, from our neighbors - Lithuania and the Baltics, to whom we do not threaten and to whom we have never had any claims,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.

Today we are considering threats in the southern operational direction from Ukraine, the state secretary noted. “We record constant violations of the airspace by unmanned aviation. The recent events over Gomel have shown that we are ready to respond. Our air defense, anti-aircraft missile systems and our aviation - Su-30SM cutting-edge aircraft were scrambled to fire strike and prevent any threats. We see everything and take measures. Our airspace and land border are in safe hands,” he emphasized.

“Analyzing all the conflicts that erupt across the globe, we can see that as a rule, these conflicts start from within, so the risks and challenges inside the country cannot be dismissed in any way. The experience of 2020 has taught us a lot. What the collective West tried to do, using Sharp's playbook, was to unleash another color revolution in Belarus, and then to send “liberation” forces under the guise of this color revolution to protect the people of Belarus. The West has not given up this idea. We know who can unleash them. They are all known to the special services. God forbid they raise their heads - we will strangle them at once. We will do everything possible to ensure that our people live in peace and security,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.
