FM: Belarus is making every possible effort for peace in the region
For many years Belarus has been promoting peace initiatives in various organizations urging the international community to work together on the architecture of European and Eurasian security, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik told the media following a meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto and a meeting of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Minsk on 29 May, BelTA has learned.

"Last year, we hosted a high-level international conference on Eurasian security in Minsk, which Peter Szijjarto attended. We are making every possible effort for true peace in the region, and we call on the leaders to actively work towards this. We continue to believe in the inevitability of peace. In global terms," the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stressed.

"Therefore, today Peter Szijjarto and I signed a new program of cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs for 2024-2025," he said.

"We have a very broad and vital agenda. There are no closed topics. On the contrary, we share our experience and are happy to learn from our partner, strive to develop existing and create new projects," the minister said.

He expressed confidence that such a constructive and, most importantly, productive dialogue will continue.

"On the example of Belarusian-Hungarian relations, we show that in politics it is possible to remain honest and decent, engage in real diplomacy, work for the benefit of your own countries and peoples," Sergei Aleinik said.
