Tomasz Szmydt plans to apply for asylum in Belarus after getting legal advice

Polish dissident, judge Tomasz Szmydt plans to apply to the Belarusian authorities for asylum after consulting with a lawyer, BelTA has learned.

“I plan to do it in the near future,” Tomasz Szmydt said.

“First we need to seek legal advice on the matter,” Tomasz Szmydt noted. “I know little about the laws and legal points of Belarus. I need consultation here. We have not prepared such an official document yet. But we are moving in this direction.”
